Aeris Gainsborough is a character out of Final Fantasy VII, one of the most popular RPG series that ever hit the US market.
She sells flowers in an otherwise dark and dreary part of town.
Her mysterious background makes her a target for the bureaucrats of Shinra, who are deeply interested in her unusual magical abilities.
Cloud Strife, the main character, stumbles upon her only to find out that she is part of the key to his past.
In traveling with Cloud, Aeris cultivates a crush for him.
Pros - You can't help but like her.
She's mysterious and charming. Unscathed by the dreary world she lives in, she has a heart of gold.

Cons - She's a little bit of a damsel in distress, however, it fits well with her role, and there are other stronger women in the game to balance it out.
Not to mention, she's not a half-bad fighter so she doesn't always take on the damsel in distress role.
She does however seem a bit too naive for her role, seeing as how she grew up in the slums and yet is completely innocent in nature.

Overall - I believe Aeris was a good character in the game. She worked well for her role and she was entertaining to play.

The Look (6/10) - She's a japanime-style character dressed in a pink dress with a red jacket and girly pink bow. She seems to have a slightly "80's" influence in her dresscode. Her overall look could be described as "innocent".

Attitude (8/10) - Aeris has a very detailed persona and is fundamentally complex in nature. Aeris holds a deep affection for Cloud, and yet she tries to keep Tifa, who also has a crush on Cloud, in good spirits with her. She comes across as very innocent in nature. Unknowing of her own past and fate, she seems to have little baggage, but as her past unfolds, she becomes very complex. Her attitude portrays that of a little innocent girl, which fits her roll in the game pretty well.

Intelligence (4/10) - Aeris seems a bit naive in the beginning, which goes along with her "innocent" persona. Although it fits with her roll in the story, you would think someone who lives in the dark and dreary part of town would not be so naive.

Stance (8/10) - Like all Final Fantasy 7 characters, her movement was very cartoony, and her model in the game was very chunky. However, this was the style of this particular game, and it worked. I think it looked good for what it was, although some people I have talked to have disagreed.

Voice (N/A) - Not Applicable. Final Fantasy VII uses bubbles as speech. It's unfortunate, but perhaps with the release of Final Fantasy VIII that will change.

Scripts (8/10) - This game was designed to play like a movie, so the scripts were really good. Her scripts filled her part really well for the type of role they were putting her into. There were some times when she was weak, but there were times when every character in the game went through some kind of crisis.

Marketing Effort (8/10) - Final Fantasy VII is a hugely popular game. The one commercial that sticks in my mind is the one where the commercial seems to be a commercial for a movie. They mention in the commercial that people say this "movie" couldn't be done, and that those people are right. Then they break it to you that it's a game not a movie. That commercial really did sum up Final Fantasy VII, and the shots in it were interesting and contained some nice shots of the female characters. I believe the commercial targeted both men and women
